OT Assessments & Services
We understand that living with a disability, illness, or injury can make even engaging in the most basic of activities difficult. Caring for a loved one experiencing these conditions can feel like a full-time job, as it is often difficult to balance their life and your own. That’s why at Ergo Therapy Group, we provide a range of OT assessments and services designed to help those in need live rewarding and fulfilling lives.
Those afflicted with these conditions may find themselves feeling isolated, but our OT services have been created to dispel this belief. They are designed to help you feel part of your community through engagement in activities like play and school, while also helping you gain independence through self-care activities like dressing and feeding. We work with participants of all ages and encourage families to stay involved throughout the process to help our clients feel well-supported.
If you or a loved one requires Melbourne occupational therapy, give us a call on 0424 835 206, send an email to admin@ergotherapygroup.com.au, or access our referral form to get in touch.
Our Occupational Therapy Assessment Services
We offer comprehensive ADL assessments to evaluate one’s ability to perform the activities that are required in daily living, such as cooking and cleaning. These OT assessments are completed by our experienced team to evaluate the participant’s current abilities, while also offering strategies for improving these abilities moving forward. These strategies also assist with maximising the participant’s level of independence and overall functioning.
AT Assessment and Equipment Prescription
Some people need access to specialised equipment to assist with living their best lives, which is why our OT services include a AT Assessment and Equipment Prescription program. This assessment allows us to identify if assistive technology devices are required for participants and provide recommendations for how these devices can improve one’s independence and quality of living. We also provide ongoing support to make sure that participants are successfully integrating with their new equipment and that it is having the projected positive effects.
SIL and SDA
Assessments
We offer SIL and SDA assessments to determine an individual’s eligibility for housing support services. These OT assessments are comprehensive and evaluate the physical, psychological, and functional state of each individual. These evaluations are conducted to help identify any difficulties that may be impacting a person’s ability to live independently. Our experienced team strives to provide the best possible support for individuals to help them achieve their goals.
Minor and Major
Home Modifications
When your life has been impacted by injury, illness, or disability, modifications to your home may be required to accommodate your new situation. As part of our occupational therapy assessment, we inspect your home to highlight any improvements that should be made. Minor modifications include things like installing grab bars, adding ramps, or widening doorways. More major modifications involve renovating bathrooms and kitchens, installing elevators or stair lifts, and constructing wheelchair lifts.
Maintain
Independence
Maintain Independence is one of our OT services that focuses on helping participants retain their independence while still living a high-quality life. We assist people of all ages and skill levels and provide tailored assessments and interventions to determine the best way to assist each individual. These evaluations help to develop the skills necessary to engage in everyday activities with ease and confidence. Our goal is to help our clients live their lives as independently and happily as possible.
Paediatrics
Paediatrics is a specialised occupational therapy assessment that is designed to help children of all ages to develop and maintain the skills that are essential for everyday life. Our experienced team of paediatric occupational therapists work with children and their families to increase their independence, promote their development, and improve their overall quality of life.
“Occupational therapy is not just about doing activities; it is about doing the right activities at the right time for the right reasons.”
